  • Hi dear, we need motor GIM8108-8 with custom electro-mechanical brake NO version. Can you send me some information about this motor? I need dimensions and brake type. Thank you

    Hello,  
    Our mechanical brake will have two separate wires with no polarity distinction.
    It disengages when powered and locks when power is cut.
    It requires a power supply for control: 24V to activate, then 12V to hold. 


    If you choose the GDZ driver board, we will include a small brake control board, allowing you to control the brake via communication.

    I am sorry that there is no a separate drawing for the brake at the moment.
    You can refer to the CAD files of the GIM8108-8 motor with a brake.

Q 1 : What's the difference between GDZ810 driver, GDS810 driver and GDM810 driver?

A : The GDZ810 driver board supports three communication protocols: CAN, 485, and Modbus,
the GDS810 drive board supports CAN communication,
the GDM810 driver is MIT driver.

Q 2 : What's the function of the secondary encoder?

A: The sole function of the secondary encoder is to remember the single-turn position after a power loss. 【 not to mitigate the backlash】

If you need to use our host computer software to debug the motor, the following applies:

· For the GDZ810 driver board, a USB-to-485 adapter is required (please note that some other brands may not be compatible; it is available for purchase if needed).
· For the GDS810 driver board, a CP2102 is needed.
· For the GDM810 driver board, a USB2CAN adapter  must be used.
